Sarah specializes in treating those with complex trauma - from childhood emotional neglect, to family enmeshment, to religious trauma. In her work with individuals, she helps clients address low self-esteem, grief, people-pleasing, loneliness and shame. Through therapy, persistent narratives will be challenged with the goal of creating healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Sarah also works with couples with wide range of concerns from premarital counseling to deciding whether or not to stay together. Her style balances identifying underlying emotional needs with finding practical solutions. She also believes couples work can be preventative, working when things feel good can deepen intimacy and connection and prepare you for harder times.

She understands the unique perspective of those who have been harmed by religious systems through manipulation, rigid beliefs, self doubt, shame, and control. She honors those coming from diverse religious backgrounds and works with them to develop a healthy relationship with their spirituality. As a multicultural therapist, an important aspect of her approach is acknowledging systemic influences on individual concerns.

Sarah's approach is based in the belief that therapy works best when there is a genuine connection between a therapist and client. She is direct, warm, and genuine and her theoretical approach is based in the humanistic traditions of attachment and relational therapies. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her pets, and reading.
